The best part of my job would have to be between client visits or going to the nursery. I enjoy visiting a client’s yard to understand their needs and help them envision their ideas. Going to the nursery comes close as the best part of my job because I enjoy spending time with plants and learning about them.
A typical workday usually starts at a job site to speak with the client and to make sure the crews are ready for the day with all the material they need and help answer any questions they may have. Then, I typically head to the office to set up the rest of the day; set up meetings, call suppliers for order status, and research plants. Then, I head down to the nurseries to order plants needed for a job, meet with our material suppliers, and meet with potential clients to discuss their vision. The day ends in the office with design work and proposals.
That every project is different. I love piecing together a design based on people’s visions and their yard. No two projects are the same.
