Professional Certifications, Awards, Accreditation:

Southwest Hardscape Association Awards 2023, Second Place Residential Patios/Courtyards, Entryways under 1,000 SF

Background & Experience:

Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies, University of Illinois, Registered Architect State of California, four decades designing and planning award-winning health care facilities.

Best part of my job:

Working with people to bring their vision to life by creating living spaces to enhance their outdoor experience.

A typical workday looks like:

A visit to a job site to check progress and resolve outstanding issues, followed by a trip to the nursery for plant selection or other suppliers for material selection, a chat with the homeowner about decision points, and back to the office for design time and phone calls.

What's the most inspiring part of your job:

A design coming to life, literally and figuratively.

If I weren't so damn good at my job, I'd probably be:

On a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair, a motorcycle beneath me, holding not a care.

My superpower is:

Listening, guiding and consensus building.

The best piece of advice I've ever been given is:

My dad’s words when he taught me to golf  –

Keep your eye on the ball, keep your arm straight, follow through.

I still hear his voice every time I step up to the tee.

I’d wow everyone in a talent show with my talent for:

Comedy

What are you happiest doing when you’re not working?

Hanging with Stanley, my Black Lab.

On Sunday mornings, you can usually find me...

…tending my garden, staring at the mountain and daydreaming with the sky.
